HOMELESS MKE

Stories by Jonnie Guernsey
Every week, I go to the St. Ben’s Meal Program on 10th and State Street in downtown Milwaukee.
I grab a tray, sit down at a table, and eat with the guests. The stories below are about the people I meet. If you would like to receive email links to stories as they are published, please scroll down to the bottom of the page and sign up. To read the stories in chronological order, please begin with the stories posted toward the end and move 'backward.' Many of the stories have recurring appearances of amazing individuals.

Due to Covid restrictions, I have been unable to consistently connect with the homeless community, and so have not been adding new stories. With vaccinations being delivered to them, I'm eager to see everyone again and gather more stories to share soon.
